Opening Update
Our campground, 3 rustics and the 4 unit and 2 unit are all open. We appreciate advance reservations as our store and office is not quite ready. However, we will be around Bear Paw all weekend. If you’ d like to demo boats, we can arrange that. We hope to be moved into the new store by May 9th.

The Bear Paw Pub is moving along, but we won’t be ready to open until hopefully Memorial Day Weekend. The new Berry/Knapp Chalets should be ready for rental by May 16th.

The Marge Cline Ray McClain Memorial Spring Races went well despite the cold windy weather. We had about 30 Competitors. Click here for race results. We raised $125 for the MCMF fund for the development in youth paddling. Bear Paw also gave away a scholarship for a youth kayaking clinic in Late July. The winner of this scholarship is Aaron Koss a local paddler with great potential. Go Aaron.

Don’t forget our Grand Opening and Twister Anniversary on June 7th. We will have a special sale and a great party. Come and enjoy the music of Goodtime Camper from Madison. Watch for details!!

Finally, we need help raking and planting trees. If anyone has time this weekend, we could use a hand. Thanks to all for support in getting going.

The Kayak Tree...

On June 7, 2007 Bear Paw Outdoor Adventure Resort was hit by a strong tornado that devastated our resort. The F4 tornado destroyed our many beautiful trees, 6 buildings and our dreams. Through it all we feel incredibly blessed by the beauty of the community and the many people who have helped out either physically, financially, or emotionally. As a memorial to the event the Kayak Tree was created. This lone white pine withstood the storm, and it represents our renewed commitment to our community and our friends. We truly hope you will schedule a visit to the Bear Paw this summer and plant a new tree!

How you can help?

Many people still want to know how they can help. The best way to help is to schedule your 2008 stay. We want to see all of you great folks who helped to pull us through this trying event. We still will need help with the brush clearing and chipping, staining for the new building, we will try to provide an electronic weekly work schedule. If you email, we will send the schedule.
